Yesterday we said a very tearful goodbye to a wonderful friend of ours. Dale McCaw passed away in a tragic vehicle accident on October 17 at a young age of 42 and this week has not seemed real to us. As we have grasped to try and understand God's timing and purpose of this, we will also take great comfort in knowing that it is by God's Grace that we will see Dale someday again. Dale was a great husband, father, son, friend, lover of life, and servant of God. He always had a smile on his face, a hug to embrace you in, and the greatest laugh that filled the room. He was loved by all and will be missed by all.

We wish that Ezra would have been able to know Dale. But we will be sure to let him know just how much Steve loved and admired his friend.
My best friend posted the following song on her blog:
With Hope – Steven Curtis Chapman
This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...
We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
(There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
We'll see your face again
We will continue to rally around the McCaw family (Dana, Cara, Tessa, Brett, and Joel) and we may be down right now, but it is Jesus and Dale who are carrying us through and we will get back up again....eventually.
