Swimming Lessons Part 2 - Way too Much Fun! And We Have a Fish!

Friends of ours posted on Facebook that their daughters were going to be teaching private swimming lessons during the month of August.  I am a HUGE advocate of private swimming lessons - I think your child becomes a much better swimmer due to private lessons.  So I booked the kids in for two weeks of lessons and off we went.  And the amount that they advanced in those two weeks was amazing.  Mckenzie went from a slight fear of deep water (even when wearing a life jacket) to refusing to wear a life jacket in deep water and just swimming.  Both Ezra and Ryder went from always wanting to be able to touch the bottom, to wanting to go down the waterslide without a life jacket.  Mckenzie jumped off the diving board without a lifejacket and her brothers weren't willing to be outdone by her - so they did the same.

I tried to tell Ryder to not worry about his sister and to just jump :)

The boys did so well, but Mckenzie amazed us all with her ability to become a little fish. It was so much fun!  Thanks to the Gabrielson girls for being amazing teachers and we can't wait to do this again next year!

We Have a SEVEN Year Old!

It is hard to believe that we have a 7 year old in the house.  For some reason his birthday snuck up on us so I am very thankful that Ezra is one of those easy going boys that has low to little expectations lol.  When I asked him what he wanted for a simple family birthday party he said pizza and angel food cake with strawberries.  Isn't that fantastic!  I picked up pizza on the way home from work and courtesy of Sobeys we had the angel food cake.

It was so neat to watch Ezra this year read all of his cards on his own - how that is so different than last year!

On Ezra's actual birthday, we headed to the Museum in Lloydminster for a Dragons & Princes themed party with some of his closest friends.  I so appreciate parties like this where all I have to do is show up with cupcakes and everything else is taken care of!  :)

What a GREAT group of friends!

Happy Birthday Ezra!  We are so proud of the person you are becoming!  Your passion for Jesus, your friends, hunting and karate are all something that is helping mold you into an amazing young man!  We love you!
