Meal Time

A couple of weekends ago, I spent a full Saturday scrapbooking with some beautiful ladies!  It was during that day, that I was very muchly reminded that I don't take ENOUGH pictures of Ryder...I realized it because I had NO pictures of him eating!  Soooooo....the camera has been out lots lately during meal times :)

Corn Frenzy

Ryder can be very impatient during meal times.  If he doesn't have something in his hand to put in his mouth...watch out!  He gets CRANKY!!!  

During supper last week, we had corn on the cob and I had run out of crackers (really, I didn't think he needed to eat anymore crackers)...so we tossed him an eaten corn on the cob (kinda like you would to a chicken :)  ).  He was as happy as a clam in a shell.

Ryder - 7 months old

Here are just a few shots of Ryder during his 7 month.  He is on lots of different pureed foods - broccoli, zucchini, squashes, sweet potatoes, banana's and more.  I haven't been able to find a food he doesn't like!  Ryder has finally just started sleeping through the night!!!  YEAH!!!!  This was a looonnnngggg time coming and it took some tough loven (we moved him downstairs, where he couldn't keep us awake as he expressed his freedom of speech! :)  ).  But I am now happy to report that for the past 5 nights, he goes to bed at 8:00, has a bottle at 10, straight back to bed, and gets up at 8:00.  Mommy is a much happier camper  Ryder has also learned how to sit on his own and is much more content sitting than being on his tummy and he HATES being on his back now.  He has also just figured out how to push himself up on his hands and he tries to get his legs up...perhaps he will be crawling soon.  

A Little of This and That

Ezra is a constant source of laughter in our home.  Here are some pictures of our fun times during the month of January!

One of Ezra's new forms of entertainment for himself is writing on himself and his dad.  Thankfully, a form of entertainment is NOT writing on the walls!!!!

Glow Lights!

When I was in Edmonton last week for a doctor's appointment, I stopped at Bulk Barn for a friend to pick up some birthday supplies.  While I was waiting at the checkout line, I caught sight of some glow sticks on sale.  I picked up two (although, now I'm wishing I bought more!) and brought them home for Ezra.  

Sooooo, the other night during bath time, I told Ezra I had a surprise for him.  I cracked the glow lights, turned out the lights, and tossed them in the tub with him.  Such a new experience! 

Family Pictures 2011

Back in September we had our family pictures taken by the talented Stephanie Lindsay.  I had seen Stephanie's work after Dan & Hayley's wedding and know that I wanted to try her out (those of you that are serious followers of my blog know that in the past 2 years I've probably tried 6-7 different photographers).  We are happy with our results and look forward to many more family photo's!

Christmas Festivities

Without the snow this year, Christmas seemed to come and go and we didn't even feel like it had come.  Thank goodness for the time spent with our family and friends to remind us that it was here!  

On Christmas Eve day, Bob and Jan came over to watch the boys open their gifts from them.  As expected, the boys were very blessed by their Grandpa and Grandma Parkinson.  

Christmas Day!  

Steve read the Christmas Story before we even began anything in the morning.  

And then it was time to unwrap the gifts.....

Even the dogs got a Christmas gift....a morning in the house (and I didn't complain about it :)! ).  

We headed over to my parents place at noon.  As we were waiting for lunch to get ready, the kids opened gifts from Grandpa and Grandma Oliver.  

We decided to change things up a bit this year (with Steve's permission!).....we indulged in an array of appetizers and afterwards we were stuffed to the rim.  It was soooo good.  

And then for supper we had steak and lobster.  Yup, you read that right - steak and lobster.  No turkey this year!  It was such a nice change and we loved it.  

The men spent most of the afternoon putting together some lego for mom...

In the evening we headed off to Scott and Tannis' (my cousins) for some games.  Sawyer and Ezra did awesome.  The following two pictures were at 11:00pm.....they both stayed awake (I'm confident that they were exhausted) until we went home...Steve and I left at 1:30!  

It was a great Christmas!  Time spent with family is always fantastic!
