A Little Fall Photo Shoot

Things have been super hectic since we got back from the lake and family pictures just weren't able to get marked on the calendar.  This is super hard for me as I like to have family pictures taken every year to show how the kids change between the years.  So in place, I decided to do my own little photo shoot with the kids.  It was a beautiful afternoon, the fall colours were in full mode, and wow, do we ever have some pretty fantastic photo spots on our land.  The kids did really well, yes, bribery was involved for some; and only one time was an attitude adjustment required :).  I was able to get a lot of great shots!  A few will be canvas worthy and even Christmas card worthy!

What I mostly had to work with from Mr Ryder.

Mckenzie made me work for it as well!

I love this picture - I'm pretty sure that Mckenzie is completely making fun of Ryder!
Note: this is when we had the little attitude adjustment :)

One of my favourite!

Ryder was digging around under his shirt and I said "Ryder, are you looking for your belly button?".  Only to have Mckenzie follow suit (which I have never seen her do before!).  Sooo cute!!!

She sure does adore her brother!

We are so blessed by our little family!
I look at this picture and think how lucky we are for God to choose us to raise His children.

Pre Baby Rocket Photo Shoot

My one bestie, Jess is due to have her baby in just over a month.  She has been waiting for me to take her pictures for a while but I kept telling her that she did not look pregnant.  Even still, I don't think she looks 8 months pregnant.  But I caved for her the other day - the colours of Fall are just too beautiful and really, I have no desire to take pictures when there is snow on the ground.  Here is just a sampling of a few of the 51 that turned out.  She is such a beautiful momma (her son Zeke happens to be Ezra's bestfriend) and I can't wait for Baby Rocket to arrive.  What a long awaited arrival this little one has been and lots of tears and prayers have taken place waiting for it's arrival.

Is This a Sign?!?!

Do we have a future ballerina in our home...is she already practicing her ballet moves?!?!?!

Maybe - but probably more likely that she was just trying really hard to grasp those laundry balls. :)

Cake Pans Really Are Better Toys In Our Home

Mckenzie discovered that in the bottom drawer in the kitchen there are cake pans of many different sizes.  I really don't know why it has taken her this long to discover that drawer as I remember both Ezra and Ryder constantly took everything out of that drawer as soon as they could pull themselves up - that was when I took the tupperware out and put cake pans in...less boring!  But just the other week, she pulled that drawer open (which she has done before), but this time she took a deep hard look and must have decided that those looked like fun!  No joking, she probably placed there for a good long hour that night while I got supper ready.  And they seem to be her "go-to" toys right now.
