We wrapped up another season of karate at the beginning of May. The boys seemed to enjoy their year and although I'm uncertain if they will be returning in the Fall, there are many valuable things that they will take away from their time at the karate studio.

Dance Comes To An End
We had such a great dance season with Ryder and Mckenzie. Ryder once again performed in the Competitive Hip Hop class with Studio Encore and continues to love it. He is such our art driven boy and each year he continues to pick dance and appears to really love it. He also thrives on the competitive part of it because getting awards seems to be very important to him. His group this year did such an amazing job and consistently received the highest marks at each competition. We are very proud of him.
Mckenzie switched over to Studio Encore this year and what a positive change it was. We enrolled her in a dance class that showcased three different styles of dance throughout the year - ballet, hip hop and tap. At the year end recital, they performed their tap number and she has such a great stage presence up there - a real natural! She has informed me that next year she wants to take ballet, tap, and hip hop - I haven't let Steve know what the $$$ comes with that. Looking at that list almost makes me feel like we will have to take out a loan just to cover the costs of two kids dancing each year lol.
Launch Pad Edmonton
If you have never been to a Launch Pad (or anything similar) - it is a great amount of fun. I wish Lloydminster had one for our long cold winters. Such a great opportunity for kids to burn off energy.
We decided to take the kids on a quick staycation in Edmonton - hit up a hotel in Fort Saskatchewan with a waterslide and the next day we went to Launch Pad and did a bit of shopping before heading back home. It was such a treat to get away as a family even if it was for a short period of time.
Enjoy the fun that we had!
