It's NOT all SMILES in our Home!

My bestfriend and Ezra's "Auntie" turned 26 on October 15.  I was trying to get a nice picture to send to her.

It took a few tries....

And then SUCCESS!!!! :)

Thanksgiving Supper

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving in a bit of a different fashion.  No turkey!  We had just completed hunting season and I didn't feel like cooking up a big meal.  So instead, we cooked up a lasagna and headed out to my mom who was on about day 32 of combining.  It was Ezra's first time eating in the field!  It was a nice and relaxing time!

I am Thankful For:

: a husband that loves me even on the days that I am unlovable

: a son that thinks I'm pretty funny

: friends that love me, love my son, and most importantly, love Jesus!

: a home that I am proud of and able to welcome many people into

: the chance to celebrate my son's first year in style!  I am thankful that each person in my family is healthy to be able to celebrate his birthday.

: a best-friend that loves Jesus, that came home from Africa, and continues to be an important person in my life.  I am also thankful that she LOVES spa visits!

My list is so large.  I am thankful for doctor's in Edmonton that were able to restore me to my healthy self.  I am thankful to my parents who raised me to be the woman that I am today.  I am thankful to live in Canada.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookie Cake

Here is another one of our dessert creations (I can't remember where I got the recipe from!)

I thought I would share the recipe since it is OH-SO-GOOD!!!

1 pkg devil's food chocolate cake mix
4 squares baker's semi-sweet chocolate
1/4 cup butter, cut up
1 pkg (250g) Philidealphia cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups thawed Cool Whip Topping
12 Oreo cookies, coarsly chopped.

Preheat oven to 350 F.  PRepare and bake cake in (2) 9 inch round pans.  Cool in pans 5 minutes.  Remove pans.  Cool.
Melt chocolate in microwave on MED 3-4 min stirring 30 sec.  Blend in butter.  Set for 5 minutes.
Beat cream cheese and sugar on medium.  Gently stir in whipped topping and crushed cookies.  Place 1 of the cake layers on serving plate...top side down.  Spread top of cake with cream cheese mixture.  Place remaining cake on top, top-side up.  Spoon glaze to cover top of cake only.

Preparation Time 50 minutes.

My Date with Jessica

Jessica had a really rough September which resulted in emergency surgery at the end of the month.  I spent countless hours with her at doctor's appointments and at the hospital (and I wouldn't have it any other way), and also looked after Zeke (even had him for a few sleepovers).  Her mom and dad (who know it was an insane time in our life!), wanted to thank me (aka BLESS ME), by sending Jess and I for a pedicure date (I LOVE PEDICURE DATES!!!).  We picked up drinks at Starbucks and then headed to Pure Elements for a real treat!

Thank You Mr. and Mrs. Rueben!  I would help Jess out again in a heart beat.
 That's what bestie's are for!

Smurf Feet :)

Pretty toes - you may not believe it but my toes are not the red ones!
I ventured out of my comfort zone and went with a deep purple - I love them!

Chad & Jennifer Fradette. 10.02.1010

Chad has been part of our lives for many years (through different Church activities and as an employee at Truck Zone.
We were so excited to finally watch these two make the next step in their relationship and seal it with a kiss! :)

Jennifer was a BEAUTIFUL BRIDE!!!  And of course, Chad was a handsome groom :)

I loved, loved, LOVED her dress!  I have never seen a gorgeous dress like hers!  It was amazing!!

Ezra and I heading out to the wedding!
My little man all decked out in his sandals and tie :).

Breaking Out The Mini House Coat

It has been a little bit since I cracked out the house coat.  And Ezra has gotten a lot taller since the last time he wore it - it's a MINI now :)

GOOD MORNING MOM!!!

Ezra has always been a fantastic sleeper (slept from 8:30pm-8:00am since he was three months old!).  I love listening to him in the mornings throw everything out of his crib while he's waiting for me, or squack like a parrot while he's waiting for me.  As he is getting older, I love going in to get him and am greeted with this beautiful face!  It is such a fantastic way to start off each morning!

Sad, Sad, Sad, SAD Day in the Parkinson Household

Need I say more!

(Ezra was chomping away at his soother and all of a sudden it was in two pieces.  I was hoping that we could get it to last through hunting season...but nope!  He has, unfortunately, adjusted to the brand new ones (I was hoping that he would just give up on it!).
