Daniel and Cara Got Married!

This past weekend Steve and I were like rockstars (that's what my bff called us ;) as we flew into Abbotsford at 10:30am on Saturday and flew out at 10:30 on Sunday.  Apparently according to her, only rockstars fly in and out within 24 hours.  

Cara is like our second daughter so we were very excited about this wedding.  We have prayed for her as she has grown up and I can only continue to pray for Mckenzie that she turns out just the way that Cara has.  Cara is a beautiful woman and has the most amazing heart.  We love her very much and are very excited for this next stage of life as Mrs Tull.  

The wedding was at a beautiful acreage just outside of Abbotsford that hosts weddings year round.  I told Steve if our yard looked anything like this yard, I would never move!  It was BEAUTIFUL.  The pictures don't even begin to do it justice!

Between the ceremony and the reception we headed to an outdoor patio for some beverages and snacks.  My heart was so full around this table.  Some of my favourite people!

The reception was back at the acreage and in a "barn".  Definitely their definition of a barn and Alberta's definition of a barn are very different :).  I think we can all agree this is nothing like a barn!

I love weddings.  But what I love even more is watching two people who love Jesus so much, that the love that they have for each other seems easy.  With Cara and Daniel you can easily see that they put their love of Jesus first, and through that they are blessed in multitudes by God himself.  I can remember Daniel reading his letter/vows to Cara and thinking that this man will take care of her.  He will become her pillar.  But more importantly they both will be a strong couple for Jesus.  They will do great things for His Kingdom and what an honour to be proud of it!  

April Phone Dro

I got to catch up with an amazing Bible School bestie in Edmonton.  I usually see her once a year when she travels up from Seattle to visit family in Edmonton.  She is such an incredible blessing to me and my soul!  

My first week of work and one of my work lunches looked like this...I sent Steve this picture and told him I could get used to this whole work gig :)

Mom made Steve and I a quilt and I love it!  Now to just get some curtains and pillow covers to match :)

She's my little workout buddy and I love her! 

Steve had my suburban in Saskatoon for a few days and I forgot to tell mom.  I showed up at work to switch vehicles/children with her and the look on her face was less than amused :).  

Some days just require a bath, magazine, a good book, and icecream with chocolate chips.  I had one of those days.  It was much better after my bath.  

Every. Single. Morning I wake up to this.  I seriously don't think she needs a bed.  We have no idea when she comes down and we don't make it comfy for her - there is a 12x12 pillow on the ground and she brings her own blanket.  She doesn't wake us or climb in our bed so for now we just leave it.  

Steve and the boys were gone to Camp for the day, so this little girl and I got to have a day together.  

Shirts are optional when you are having supper outside apparently.  

It was twin day at school.  These two boys picked their own outfit out and even made sure they were wearing the same shoes.  #growinguptoofast

Las Vegas, Baby!

Mom and I headed to Vegas the last week of April for a week vacation filled with many shows/concerts, lots of shopping, tons of walking, and many laughs.  I always enjoy vacations with my mom and hope someday that Mckenzie and I will get to continue this "tradition".  

Why Vegas?!  Well, because of George Strait.  That in itself it's a good reason :).  I've always wanted to see him in concert and when he announced that he was coming out of retirement to do a few shows in Vegas, it wasn't even an option - we were going!

The day we arrived into Vegas was also the night of the George's concert.  We walked for an hour for supper (not at all realizing the restaurant was that far away!), which was super exciting for me as we got to experience our first Uber experience getting to the arena...huge fan of Uber's I am now!  Didn't feel nearly as greasy as a cab at all :).

Okay, so this picture doesn't at all do it justice, but we were pleasantly surprised by how great our seats were.  We don't look close...but we were fairly close.  Much better than what we expected! 

And then he came!  And sang for two hours long.  This man who is 64 years old sang for 2 hours long!  It was great!  

The next day we headed off to find mom some quilt shops and me a scrapbook store - lol - yes, we went to quilt shops and a scrapbook store while in Vegas :).  

That night, we got some fantastic seats for Pentatonix :).  Yup - you read that right.  I found out they were playing and told mom...she hadn't heard of them so I showed her a you tube video of them....her  reply was "yes, let's go they are like the nylons!".  :)  She didn't date herself at all with that comment ;).  

We booked a scooter tour at the Red Rock Canyon.  This was one of my favourite days.  It is so beautiful!  One of those times that you just stand in awe at God's creativeness!  I also want a scooter now when we move into town...I'm a pro :)

Another bucket list we wanted to check off was me seeing the Grand Canyon.  This was my largest disappointment in our trip.  And not due to the Grand Canyon....but due to the rain at the Grand Canyon.  The Grand Canyon is really meant to be viewed via helicopter and boat without rain.  Due to the cold (and it was Canada cold!) and rain, we only had a 20 minute helicopter ride and that was it.  Had we realized it was pouring rain at the canyon we would have gone a different day....so for now it remains on my bucket list.  

Another show we went to was Blue Man Group.  Oh my.  So FUNNY!  Glad mom convinced me to go to this show!  I can't wait to take Steve someday!  

We headed off to a restaurant that Scott and Tannis recommended (we actually did two restaurants they suggested, but I didn't take a picture at the first one).  This place was called Lawry's and it had amazing prime rib!  The other thing that completely intrigued me was the table side service...never experienced that and what a treat it was!  

We headed off to KA (a cirque d' soleil) show....amazing!  I could have watched it over and over again!  I am now 100% confident that gymnasts are the strongest people ever.

Our final night was a very special supper to me.  I had waited all week for this restaurant.  Some people dream of a expensive purses but I dream of eating at a world renowned chef restaurant.  And I was able to check that off my bucket list.  We headed off to Steak by Gordon Ramsay and it was just as I expected.  Great.  Great.  Great!  

I'm such a foodie!  When I made a reservation, I requested that we be beside the kitchen and we were.  Simple things apparently get me excited because watching that kitchen work like an ant hill and being so fast yet top notch was great.  The only better thing would have been if Ramsay himself would have been there!  

We finished our evening off with dessert from Carlo's Bakery.  

It was a great trip, but it was also nice to get back to Canadian Ground and back into windy Edmonton.
