May Long: Camp Work Weekend

We headed on up to Camp Work Weekend for the May Long this year! What a different experience having Ezra with us but we had a fantastic time! Over 140 people joined us this year and we stayed in King Fisher with Ken, Janel & Logan (same age as Ezra) and Jon, Jessica & Zeke (1 year old). Interesting at times but we loved it!

When we took this last picture we chuckled saying that it was the next generation of Southridge Camp: I am excited to see our boys become future camp kids, camp workers, camp directors, and camp board members!

And He STANDS!!!

Ezra pulled himself up to a standing position for the first time tonight!

I could see him looking up at the toys in the basket and the next thing I know, he had pulled himself up to a standing position! He is getting so strong and big!!!

Not only is mommy proud of me - I'm pretty proud of myself :)

California Vacation - Our First Family Holiday

When we made the decision to go to California for our first family holiday, Steve promised that we could do whatever I wanted - and that we did :) We had such a fantastic holiday spending time as a family but also visiting with many of our hunting clients turned friends.

We started our holiday by hitting California Adventure and Disneyland. Ezra will never remember this and I got my dose of it and will be content to never return until our youngest child is at least 8 (Steve will be happy with that as well!).

Ezra fell asleep within 20 minutes of arriving to Disneyland.

Our final night in Anaheim, we headed to Downtown Disney to have supper at ESPN and stroll around. They have a Lego store which is weak in comparison to the one in Downtown Disney Florida, but we still had fun :)

On of my favorite shots - Steve had never been in a Rainforest Cafe - so we went in just to look.

We headed up to Los Angeles for a day to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame (big disappointment to me), Rodeo Drive, and a wax museum.

It has always been a "bucket list item" of mine to be on Rodeo Drive ever since I watched Pretty Woman. Steve was a fantastic husband and willingly took me down.

I was super excited :)

We spent a few nights with some great people - Jeff and Gina Carpenter and their beautiful son Peaton. They took us to the San Diego Wild Animal Park and we had a great time seeing the many different animals.

Nearing the end of our trip, we headed down to San Diego and caught up with another friend, Paul and his family. We enjoyed the chance to meet Paul's family and also eat at his English Pub and enjoy some fantastic fish and chips.

We also went to the San Diego Zoo which was AMAZING!! We didn't get a chance to see everything (which means we will definitely have to go back!) - but we did get a good taste as to what is all there!

We went right when they opened at 9:00 which was perfect as it was feeding time so every animal was out being fed. The polar bears were a great hit for all of us!

On our way back up to Los Angeles, we stopped at Legoland which was nothing like what we expected - it is a HUGE amusement park! Definitely worth going to if you have younger children though! We didn't want to pay the full price - so we had an hour shopping fee and had to be out within the hour. So we quickly saw a bit of it and then shopped at the Lego store :)

The night before we flew out, we went down to Manhattan Beach for supper and to show Ezra the ocean and introduce sand...

He didn't get his dislike of sand from me :) Not sure where it came from :)

Ezra was such a good traveller and we had a great time! I am blessed by the time that we have as a family!!!

A BIG 8 Months Old

Can't believe that Ezra is 8 months old. To kick off being 8 months old, we spent another few days up in Edmonton as I had my third surgery. Steve was able to come up and be with Ezra (I think that they really enjoyed their boy time at the hotel).

Steve would bring Ezra over during meal times and we would all eat together. He's getting very big isn't he :)

And FINALLY, after what seemed like a very LONG 8 months...Ezra met his Auntie Sarah and Uncle Matt who have arrived back in Canada after spending 8 months in Africa doing missions work. We were all soooo excited to see them and for them to meet Ezra and for Ezra to meet them. We were lucky to spend a bit of time with them at the hospital.

It was love at first sight for all three :)

I came home from the hospital on Thursday and Sarah came out on Friday to spend the day with Ezra and I and to help out. Ezra loves, LOVES, LOVES his Auntie Sarah - she sooo much fun!

I hope to get better at posting each month than I have been! I apologize on the delayment on photo posting!

Celebrating Mom's

We celebrated Mother's Day in a BIG way this year and had a blast doing so. Steve and Peter booked a 16 passenger hummer limo to take Peter's Family, Steve, Ezra and I, Steve's parents, my parents, Morgan and Nikki (and baby on board), and Tammy's mom and step dad up to Edmonton and out for supper.

I had only been home from the hospital for two days so wasn't sure how I would make out on the trip but it worked out well as I was able to lie down on the seats and rest on the way up and back.

Mother's Day this year shed new light as I celebrated being a mom. Our mom's have dedicated so much of their time, love, and lives to us - so it was a great treat to be able to share this special day with them as well!
