Ryder - Preschool Party

Somehow, I seem to end up on Preschool snack on holidays (okay, let's be serious....Lori totally does it on purpose as she knows that I am a pinterest mom and nothing boring will come....such pressure!  ;)  ).  

So snack was these spiders.  Tortilla wraps cut in circles spread with WOW butter (which I must say is the best non peanut butter I have ever had!  So great that someone was able to create something to replace peanut butter in the classrooms).  Anyhow....back to my spiders!  :)  Inside is WOWbutter and strawberry jam (Ryder's favourite sandwich is peanut butter and jam), and then pretzels for legs and I had plans for chocolate chips to be the eyes, but I was having issues with icing.   So once it was tossed, I used an edible marker instead :)  

I was excited to go and be parent helper.  I've been worried about Ryder and his lack of friends (or so it appeared).  See with Ezra, he had his best friend at preschool.  Ryder...had no one join him.  And even though I had asked Lori many times, her answer seemed to not stick in my head so again, I had to go check it out myself.  

The little boy in the orange "monster" costume is Caleb - he is in Ryder's dance class and they have become good little friends.

Ryder was so very thrilled to be able to show his monster truck.  He gathered it and was also very passionate about having it placed in his tractor bag (thanks mom!).  

And by the end of the morning, I realized that Ryder is a quiet little boy who is very kind, tender hearted, an observer and who is slowly making friends with some very good well raised boys and girls. 

Halloween 2014

Our original plan this year was another family outfit but when Steve decided to be gone to Oregon on an Elk Hunt, we had to shift ideas (saving that family outfit for next year).  The boys changed their costumes so many times that I actually didn't buy theirs until two days before Ryder's preschool party just in case they changed their minds again.  And Mckenzie, well, she had zero say basically - I had seen this outfit on Pinterest and wanted someday for her to be that.  And when I tried to change her mind to a ninja (since no way were the boys willing to be part of the Wizard of Oz), she would have nothing to do with it.  So two separate costume groups we were.

Once pictures were done, first stop was Grandpa and Grandma Farm's for treats and supper (this is a tradition to have supper there on Halloween....normally they are our last stop but my dad had to go to work and my mom had to go town so they were our first stop this year.

My dad purposely went to work late (the joys of kinda of being a boss) because he had bought a costume and wanted to wear it. :)  He was just like a kid :)

Then off on some serious treating adventures!

I love these next few pictures that show just how puffy her costume is.   It was always an adventure to get her seatbelt done up!  

And from Grandpa and Grandma Park's we headed to friend, Jake, house.  They tried to give us every bit of candy they had since they were sure we would be the last group coming through.

And then our final stop - Uncle Drayson's house.  

Shortly after we had walked in, Uncle Drayson tried to scare my life out of me by hiding in the bathroom right behind.  He would have gotten me really well if I hadn't (just by chance) moved a step and then he reached.  He was sure pretty proud of himself.  ;)
