Outside Play

All Ezra needs now lately to have a great time playing outside is the following:

: rocks
: dog food
: his semi
: and some dogs that will tolerate him :)

Thumbs Up!

Our friend Paul is staying with us during our Quickload hunting season.  Paul is from San Diego and is an amazing guy and Ezra loves him!  Paul has been teaching Ezra thumbs up.  I picked up this shirt and Cabela's in Edmonton - seems to suit our family and this time of our life!
The second picture is Ezra's take on thumbs up - it's pretty dang cute!

A Little of This and That

Hunting season is very exhausting for Ryder :)

Breakfast Time!

Sawyer came over and played with us one evening.

Jess is helping us out with hunting season - so Zeke comes along each day as well.  A LOT of tv is getting watched this month.

Super tired!

ANNNNNDDDDDD

Ezra has figured out how to honk the horn - uses his foot!  Pretty smart little dude!

Harvest Time

Uncle Drayson and Glen were combining just down the road from our place this week.  Tannis texted me to see if Ezra would like to come for a combine ride...ahhhh YEAH!!!!!  So off we went, down the road and in he went.  I think that he had a GREAT TIME!!!!

I might be the farthest thing from being a farm girl that was raised on a farm...but a picture like below makes me proud to be a farm girl :)

And Then He Screamed!

Ezra has had a habit of climbing on top of his little table that I have in the kitchen, so that he can see on top of the kitchen counters.  I have always told him, not to touch the coffee machine and hot water....and he has always listened until two weeks ago.

As I was busy peeling potatoes in the kitchen, he once again climbed on top...I told him not to touch that it was hot and turned back to the sink to grab another potato.  Within those few seconds, I heard a scream that I NEVER hope to hear again.  I knew instantly what had happened.  He had pulled the button down on the tea water (it's instant boiling water that comes out).  He sees me push it down to put some into the bottle multiple times each day.  I grabbed him, placed his hand under cold water and tried to calm his screaming soul.  He cried/screamed for 2 hours....it was a very long two hours.  We called the pharmacist and they told us what to do....so that two hours was spent changing cold clothes out to keep cold on the burn.  He slept very well that night once his hand stopped burning.  The following pictures are his burn a few days after it happened.  Wierdly enough, the burn went from looking great, to looking horrible, and then back to looking great.  Ezra's doctor says it's going to heal just fine and shouldn't show any scars!

Ezra and I learned two things that day!
1.  I moved the coffee machine.
2.  He still climbs up on his table, but when I say it's hot and it will burn you, he doesn't even think twice about touching it.

Ezra Got Mail!

A special little package arrived for Ezra in the mail last week.  He doesn't receive mail much and I knew that this little package would be a pretty cool package.  And it was!

Thanks to his Auntie Sarah and Uncle Matt for the COOL card that sings and now that he knows how to push the button, he LOVES how it drives mommy crazy!!!! :)

Quickload Waterfowl Outfitters 2011

Here is what we have been up to the last week.  And this will be the reason as to why you probably won't see many posts for the next month :)

Steve and I run an outfitting business during the months of September and October.  This year we have 33 hunters booked and are excited to see many familiar faces plus NEW faces return.

Our good friend Paul Crawford from San Diego has joined us for the entire season and is helping us out.  It is SUCH A PLEASURE to have him here!  He is a fantastic guy and Ezra loves him!!!!

Our first group and our brand new signs!
The signs were made by: Grey Wolf Metal Art in BC.

Ezra loves to help Paul outside!

My responsibility during season besides paperwork, being a mom, and a wife: the chef!  Such a fun time!

One of my favorite meals!

Summer Arrived in September!

Summer finally arrived in September!  It was soooo hot last week and between us madly getting ready for our hunting season and the regular busyness of life, I totally felt that Ezra needed a day dedicated to him.

Enter in the fantastic friends of ours: The Willis'.  They provided the pool, the toys, the sprinkler, the slide, the food, and the grass.  It was a perfect and fun day spent with our friends!  I am so glad that they are part of our circle of friends.

Ezra had a great time with Hayley...in typical Ezra fashion it took him a while to warm up and partake in the water fun...but by the end of the day he was standing in the pool water :)

Falon, Hayley, and Isabelle - thank you so much for a FANTASTIC last day of summer before our craziness of Quickload season began.

Here are some pictures of our day!

Falon is my inspiration as a mom.  I want to be like her :)  She constantly had new toys to bring out when Ezra got tired of whatever he was playing with.  She brought out bubbles and Ezra learned how to blow bubbles for the first time :)

One of my favorite pictures of the day!  I wish that I would have gone to the front of them and taken a front picture as well - they were wearing their hats very unique :)
