Our Year in Review 2017

JANUARY

We moved in January.  That was what our month was filled with - packing boxes, loading up storage units and trailers, and leaving what we thought was forever into a house in Lloydminster that we hoped wouldn't be forever.  We haven't regretted this move at all - we have more time now as a family than we ever did before, and to us that is the most important thing in life!

FEBRUARY

We moved into a house that we hoped was just a temporary transition home.  Thankful for friends who came over quickly after we were settled and filled the walls with laughter.

Ryder received a Cobra Award.

MARCH

March saw the start of Dance competitions for Ryder.  He claimed he looked ridiculous in his outfit - but I thought he looked perfect :).

Mom and I took the kids skiing for a few days to Cold Lake - we just love that little hill.  Ryder graduated from being attached with a rope, to actually proving that he could snowplow and stop if he needed to.  Mckenzie still remains on a rope but she is fairly certain she won't need one this year :).  The kids also exclaimed that they are ready for the big mountains - we will see what 2018 brings in that department!

APRIL

Easter Celebrations 2017

Ryder competed at a Karate competition and was awarded two medals.  I was very proud of him!

Dress as your favourite superhero at school day - Ezra choose his Dad!

MAY

Softball season started - YEAH!  My favourite sport to play and Ezra did so very well!

Mckenzie started swim club and proved that she is a little fish.

Oscar joined our family.  He came at a time when we needed some joy - and joy he brought...but also ALOT of work :).  He was only 7 days old when we got him - so I was back bottling a kitten for a while.

Mckenzie performed at her dance recital.

Ezra received his orange belt at Karate.

JUNE

We celebrated Ryder's 6th Birthday with 3 of his closest friends.  These boys brought Ryder's smile back!

Father's Day Celebrations at the Petting Zoo

Mckenzie turned 5 on June 20th with her closest friends.  It was such a great day!

Ryder completed a 6 week art class - and loved it!

JULY

Filled with more swim competitions!

Ezra also started competing at swim competitions.

Time at the Lake

AUGUST

Our trip to Germany was one of our highlights of August.

Nikki and I took the kids to Jurassic Forest northeast of Edmonton - it was a great day!

Ezra turned 8 on August 27th.

SEPTEMBER

Ezra had four teeth pulled to see if we could help prevent braces in the future.  He was a trooper!

OCTOBER

Family Pictures on one of the coldest days of the year!

Hallowe'en Fun

NOVEMBER

Steve located a very large bull moose yet didn't have a tag, but our friends the Gilchrist's did - it was a success shoot that night!

Mckenzie and I headed up to Disney On Ice with Nikki & Sawyer.  What a delightful evening!
Someday Mckenzie will be so much fun at Disneyland/Disneyworld.   Her excitement for all the characters and princesses was contagious!

DECEMBER

Our December was filled with all things Christmas - Christmas parties, Christmas concerts, Christmas Day & Boxing Day with Family, lots of food and much laughter.  December also involved selling our house (yeah!), a third back surgery for Correna (Dec 28) and concluding up 2017 with three of us with a terrible flu through the New Year's Eve evening.

Thank you for joining us on Our Year in Review 2017.

We have grown lots this year, had some experiences we don't ever want to go through again, had our love grow in astounding ways, been broken and restored by Jesus, but we are thankful that all in all our family of 5 is healthy (with the exception of my stupid back - but it's just a back), happy and ready for everything 2018!
