Canada Day Long Weekend Part 2

Hot weather also brought on a water fight with the kids and I against Steve.  I'm sure you can guess who got the most wet - it wasn't someone who is 4 years or younger nor was it someone who is turning 38 in the next couple of days.  Somehow, my plan backfired and I was soaked!

Apparently it was an exhausting day as Ryder fell asleep during his bedtime snack!

Sunday we headed over to the Willis' for some visiting, games, campfire, and snacks!  They are the family that we go camping with and Hannah (their oldest daughter) commented that this was practice for camping :)!

Lloydminster put on a great Canada Day celebrations.  Sadly, I don't have many pictures (except for the one below and of the fireworks).  Steve was working, so I went with the kids on my own...so many people had me paying more attention to keeping track of my kids than having my face behind a camera.  There was so much to do at Bud Miller Park - bounce houses, tattoos, photo booths, bike and car show, hot doggers, food vendors, baseball & volleyball tournaments, concerts, wagon rides, hot air balloon rides and so much more.  It was a great day - so hot!!!!

We took the kids in to the fireworks that evening.  It was the first time they have seen fireworks and also the first time that Steve and I have watched fireworks as a couple.  We really enjoyed them - Mckenzie cried at the beginning but she soon got over that thought - a good time was had by all!

The next day...apparently we are exhausted! :)

Canada Day Long Weekend Part A

The H-O-T weather finally arrived this past weekend - just in time for Canada Day celebrations and a long weekend.  We had nothing on the go for the weekend - YEAH - so it was a home day for most of it...which was so needed for the kids.  I truly believe that at times, kids just need to be home...it's a sense of security for them!  We get out and about lots...but even I at times just am glad to be home for a day!

It was super hot out the one day, so I filled up the kiddie pool in the morning so that it was at the perfect temperature for some play time after lunch.  The boys were super excited to get in the pool and I know that Mckenzie would have been in there like white on rice if I would have let her.  Splashing from the outside was enough for me!

It was way to hot to cook, so we fired up the BBQ and had a quick hot dog supper.  Ezra asked if we could sit outside - yes, Ezra, we sure can!

And then back into the pool after supper!

Ryder - 2 Years Old

Ryder received a special card in the mail the other week.  The boys get super excited when I shout "Mail from Auntie Sarah".  They do love her, but they love the singing cards even more :)  Ryder was excited to rip open the envelope and listen away to the singing birthday card.

Ryder and Mckenzie were playing so well together the other day.  He had found Mckenzie's birthday hat and had somehow figured out how to get it to stay on his head.  This boy brings such joy to my life at times!
