Flashback 9 months ago

I was going through photo's on the computer and realized that I hadn't ever posted pictures from the Prosser wedding that Steve had the honor to be part of as a groomsman.  

It was a very hot summer day, July 14 and the weather was fantastic for an outdoor wedding - just about too hot though!  

I can't believe how much the boys have changed in looks the past 9 months.  Of course Mckenzie has, but it's crazy what a hair cut will change on the boys :)  Enjoy the flashback in time :)

Family Vacation to Ontario

There was a Monster Energy AMA Supercross race in Toronto this past week, so Steve suggested that we make a family vacation out of it.  It was a kill two birds with one stone kind of trip.  It has been 7 years since we were in Ontario to visit Steve's family - which is way to long!  So we were able to catch the Supercross race and visit with family.  Good times had by all!  

Many people wondered how we did at the airport.  Let me just say we looked like a zoo.  

Imagine if you will:

: 3 car seats

: 1 double stroller

: 1 play pen

: 3 checked LARGE suitcases

: 4 carryon bags

: 3 children - 3 1/2 years and under.  

Sigh....yes we were quite the sight :)

Ezra has flown many times, Ryder has flown once before and this was Mckenzie's first plane ride.  They did awesome.  It was a 7:00am flight and just by crazy circumstances we happened to be on the plane without feeding our children breakfast (thank goodness for pretzels and a small bag of froot loops!).  And then when we landed, we discovered that we were missing two pieces of luggage - sigh.  And then it was a gong show getting our rental car.  So by the time that we could even consider FOOD for our 3 children it was 3:00pm.  And we had hardly pulled out of the car rental dealership to glance in the backseat to see all three conked right out.  Our decision then was to just drive and hopefully make it to our first destination - Port Dover - Uncle Jim & Auntie Linda's house before meltdown city started.  Which we did.  In fact, meltdown city didn't start until 5 minutes before supper.  So to quickly recap, 2 pieces of missing luggage and the first meal of the day for our kids was 6:00pm.  Pretty impressive that the meltdowns waited as long as they did.

A Mattice supper was arranged on one of the nights that we were there.  I LOVE Mattice suppers.  Sure this was only my second one but it felt like my 200 one.  I have always felt so welcomed by this family and each person is such a gem and amazing person.  It was so nice to see everyone and for them to meet our little family.  Our kids were awesome and they played so well!

Great Wolf Lodge - Niagara Falls

Welcome to one of my favourite highlights of our trip = Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls.  Google it...you want to (or maybe not because than you will want to go) and if you want to go, I'm the biggest supporter of it! 

One word = AMAZING!  

I can't wait to go back.  (ps.  there are about a dozen in the US.  This is the only one in Canada.)

After we left Port Dover we headed to Niagara Falls Thursday afternoon and checked into Great Wolf Lodge for 2 nights.  This was a chance for us to spend some time as a family.  I looked forward to these few days because we hadn't really had some good quality solo time since prior to my surgery and I felt that it was important for our children and my soul.  

Steve and I have seen commercials on the Lodge for many years and it is something that I have wanted to do since.  If you have a family with young children, trust me - it is worth your money!  Our kids had such a fantastic time.  Sorry for the boatload of pictures in this post...I just couldn't decide which ones to show you - so I have shown you them all :)  Enjoy our few days at the Lodge.

Great Wolf Lodge also has "Cub Club".  It's an area that totally shouted "Falon Willis" to me - she's one of my bestie's and is all star mom!  You can take your child down there and there are crafts, toys, airbrush tattoos, balloons, and painting to entertain them.  In the evening, they have different activities geared for the children (ours were still to young for the evening activities...minimum age 4).    Ryder and I went down to see what Cub Club was all about one afternoon.

I look forward to the day that Mckenzie is old enough that her and I can check out Scooops.  It's the spa that is geared to little girls under 12.  Sooooo fun.  In the meantime, I took my little family in there and attempted some pictures (Ezra had just been woke up from his nap...when that happens = crankypants).

Steve's brother, Chris and family (Catherine and Matthew) came and visited with us Friday night.  It was such a pleasure to have the chance to finally meet Catherine and spend some time with them.  Chris is such a fun crazy guy and it is so nice to see him happy!  He also loves to spoil his nephews....in the two gift bags amongst all the "stuff" were these soother suckers.  What goofs!
