Here Comes Santa Claus Day - Dec 3, 2011

Streetscapes put on an annual Here Comes Santa Claus Day each year and this was the first year that we were able to attend.  Let me just say how absolutely impressed I was by it.  My mom came and joined us for the day as well and Ezra loved the time with his grandma!

We started our morning off with a FREE pancake breakfast with all the fixings at the Legion.  Then we headed on over to the Atrium centre were Ezra made a FREE snowman craft and we read some books while we waited for Santa to arrive.  Once Santa arrived (Ezra will have NOTHING to do with the Jolly Red Guy), we headed outside to see the "reindeer".  It was such a nice to suprise to see the old friends of ours!  It was Mr McDonald with his team of horses (and for those of you that may not remember, he came with these horses to Ezra's 2nd birthday party and did rides for us!).

Once we had our fill of petting the "reindeer", we headed on over to the Royal Bank for FREE gingerbread house decorating.  Well, kinda decorating...I'm pretty certain that Ezra ate way more candy than he decorated with :)  When we arrived at the Royal Bank and took our seats, Ezra surveyed his surroundings and went "yahhhh, yum, yum".  I knew than that it would be a challenge to get him not to eat the candy.  I pick my battles...this was not one of them :)

Once we finished at the Royal Bank, we headed on over to Servus Credit Union for a FREE hotdog lunch, cooked over a fire by the local fire department.  It was chilly, but as you can see, Ryder was bundles up tight!  And Ezra...well, he didn't need any hotdogs since he was full from candy.  So, Steve ate his share :)

From there, we headed over to Ernie's Coffee House for some FREE hot cidar and FREE Christmas Cookie Decorating.  It was FANTASTIC!  and WARM!!!  Once again, we picked our battles, and Ezra ate more candy than decorated with.

And Ryder just chilled out on Grandma Oliver's jacket at this point.

From there, we headed over to the Varcity parking lot to try and jump on a FREE hayride...but the 50 plus people waiting in line made us decide that maybe we didn't need to wait in the cold that badly.  So Steve and I loaded the boys back up in the vehicle and we headed home.  Ezra was very wound up on a sugar high, so a nap didn't happen....but he did sleep very well that night :)  We did also miss out on the Mayor doing a Christmas story reading in the afternoon as well...perhaps next year we will make it!
