Sunday night (July 3) a massive storm (many would say tornado) descended upon Ministickwen Lake for about one hour. We were very oblivious as to what was happening outside the Oasis as we all enjoyed our evening supper. God had his hand upon this Camp during the storm. Out of all the damage that happened, only 3 cabin roofs needed to be repaired and only one vehicle was hit by a tree. God is good!
If you have never been to Southridge Camp before, you won't begin to grasp how much Camp has changed now in these pictures. Camp is still beautiful, but is very different.
The next few photo's are of the campfire area. We have a lot of campfire wood now :)

The building in the photo below is the new washroom unit that was built last year. As you can see, tree's fell around it and the building was not damaged.
The large tree in front of King Fisher was completely uprooted. Fortunately (or unfortunately as some may see it :) ) it fell right beside the building completely blocking off the road.
Power lines were knocked down throughout camp.
Power was out for 48 hours. Water was out for 24 hours.
The basketball hoop was broke off.
Our "sanctuary" - the Oasis - was only damaged by one tree. The tree did put a whole in the roof, but we had no idea. When you have 80 people in one building...you don't hear anything!
The next few photo's are taken around different cabins. We moved all campers into the Oasis and Chapel for Sunday evening to sleep as access to many of the cabins was not able.

As you will be able to see - Camp looks very different and it will take years to clean up.
The dock was torn apart and the barge was tossed up on dry land.
The BEAUTIFUL Chapel wasn't even touched.
No damage to it and the trees around it remained standing. God is good!
